Interview Tip #1

The first thing that a perspective employer will ask is, "Tell me about yourself".  This is your chance to highlight your value as an employee.  Your response should be long enough to give the employer an idea of what you can do, however it should not be too long; this kind of statement should be only 30 seconds.  If your statement is any longer it could send a bad impression; such as, you do not respect their time!

Your "Me-in-30-Seconds" should include the following pieces of information about you:
  1. A brief objective statement about your goals.
  2. Three or four accomplishments that help the employer understand that you have what it takes to get the job done right and efficiently.
  3. A few characteristics that set you apart from the other candidates
For more information on the "Me-in-30-Seconds" technique visit www.ldsjobs.org.  The beauty of this site is that once your profile is 90% complete, employers can view your profile and contact you!  This website is sponsored by The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints to help people who are unemployed or underemployed.  You DO NOT need to be a member of the church to create a profile, nor will you be pressured into joining.
